John Cook - Artist's Biography
Specializing in Glass Bowls - Platters - Vases
John Cook was born in Hollywood California in 1947. He studied with internationally known glass artist John Burton for two years after which Cook received a scholarship to Brooks Institute of Fine Art and graduated with honors in 1972 receiving his B.F.A. CA was home to John Cook Studios until 1991 when the studio and Cook family relocated to Oregon. John lives and maintains a studio and gallery in the small coastal town of Gearhart, Oregon.
John blows glass with a passion and is constantly creating new art glass designs. He has designed works of art for many notable collectors, including musicians, actors, and political personalities. John is well known for his lighting fixtures, giant flowers, colorful vases, glass bowls and many fish motif glass objects. His current work is an eclectic mix of vases, bowls, & perfume bottles.
John also does pieces based on floral motifs. John has exhibited in many galleries and museums, nationally and internationally. John Cook is featured at Art Glass by Gary Gallery.
