Exceptional Value & Designs
Paul Harrie's glass art is perfect - or he doesn't send it out. His work reveals an interest in classical form, contemporary design and bright clean colors. His art glass is hand blown, then cut, and polished, with considerable skill and attention to detail.
Harrie, born in North Dakota, searches to capture the pristine quality of the new snow and the clear icy light of the winter of his childhood. He wants to make something that give the impression of opening up, peering into the ice, of looking into a geode.
Paul has had his own studio, Harrie Art Glass in Southern California since 1980. He taught for several years as glass instructor at California State University and as an assiastant glass instructor at UCLA.
Paul's work is exhibited in galleries all over North America. His work such as paperweights, glass vases, perfume bottles, and sculptures, also have been exhibited at the Nelson Museum in Kansas City and the Royal Art Gallery in Kyoto, Japan. In 1980 and 1981 his work was selected for publication in the Corning Museum of Glass' New Glass Review. Paul Harrie glass is featured at Art Glass by Gary Gallery.
