Birds - Cranes Brass Sculpture
SPI Gallery, Contemporary Heron waterfowl sculpture in brass. Approximately 32"h x 9.5"w x 4.5"d. "New for 2010", art deco stylized sculpture with beautiful patinas.
This sculpture is meticulously hand finished, using the hot patina technique. SPI artists heat the brass surfaces with blow torches and apply proprietary formulations of chemicals that react to the metal using using various techniques, one layer at a time. After several coats of hand waxing, the result is a vibrant, deep, layered finish with complex subtleties that no other finishing method can achieve.
