* Gallery Collection * SPI Gallery, Turtle Tag in brass and set on a highly polished rectangular marble base. Approximately 7"h x 13"w x 7.5"d. Two turtles swimming leisurely through a patch of kelp. This sculpture is meticulously hand finished, using the hot patina technique. SPI artists heat the brass surfaces with blow torches and apply proprietary formulations of chemicals that react to the metal using using various techniques, one layer at a time. After several coats of hand waxing, the result is a vibrant, deep, layered finish with complex subtleties that no other finishing method can achieve. |
