GlassMaster Matt Bezak

GlassMaster Matt Bezak Jewelry as an artistic expression is how I would describe my work. I do however, concern myself with the overall function and integrity of each item. The designs are inspired around the motifs that come straight out of my imagination and vision. In my mind I visualize what I am trying to relate with a sense of drama and prefer a classic look that the viewer can connect with, therefore placing more than intrinsic value on a piece they will enjoy in a more personal way.
For 16 years I have been a jeweler and an artist all my life. I earned a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology where I learned to create in a functional and aesthetic way. My technical skills where transferable to the art of jewelry manufacturing therfore I chose to attend the Gemological Institute of America. Upon completion of my studies, I spent 5 1/2 years teaching manufacturing at the Institute. Teaching exposed me to a myriad of experiences that helped to develop my artistic skills. I have owned studios in Monterey, San Diego and presently in Crestline California. My vision for my work has evolved to where I now create pendants in the lost wax casting method in glass, called Cire Perdue. Rene Lalique has had a major influence in my work as well as M.C. Escher. Greatly inspired by sea life forms, I consider my style to be contemporary with a sense of drama or classic. Look for my work to evolve and expand with offerings in platinum and gold.
Bezak Pendants are mounted in sterling silver and 14k & 18k gold. Each pendant comes with a chain approximately 16"-17" long.
