Glass Stone Cairns II |
* Glass Blown Stone Cairns * Thomas Spake Glass Stone Cairns are made individually, based off of stones he has collected while hiking. He creates them using tiny colored glass chips to mimic stones from his collection. During creation, the glass stones are heated in a kiln to 1200 degrees and picked up, one at a time, on a base glass stone, and then heated and manipulated to enhance the unearthed look of these small sculptures. Approximately 4" high x 2.25"d x 2.25" w. " These glass stone cairns were inspired by my childhood days of stacking rocks as well as my adult appreciation of the timelessness of this building practice, creating a landmark or ceremony and the its cross-cultural traditions throughout time and history." |
